The aim of this study is to develop mathematics-student worksheet based on realistic approach for junior high school in bilingual program. The criteria used to generate product are valid and practical. This research was applying the Research and Development design as adapts the development model of Borg and Gall (1983). Those are (1) need analysis, (2) product develompemnt (3) organization of learning material prototype (4) trial run, (5) product revision and (6 ) final result. In its development, mathematics-student worksheet has been tested through formative evaluation that covers several stages, i.e. content or material expert review, instructional design expert review, instructional media expert review, individual test, small group test and field test. The formative evaluation results in form of suggestion, response or assessment used as feedback in revising and finishing the mathematics-student worksheet. The content or material experts review, the instructional design expert review and the instructional media expert review of mathematics-student worksheet result in " very good" category with percentage of 90%. According to the students’ responses, it was found that students worksheet was very interesting, exciting and can help the students to comprehend the concept. Mastering English has become one important skill for students in higher education, especially in university level. As the impact, every university provides English program for students in the faculty or language center. However, not every student can master English fast, for example: students with visual impairments. Students with visual impairment are a group of students who have visual problem; either it is low vision or blind. Students with visual impairment need different approach in learning English. This condition motivates lectures to adapt specific instructional design to support classroom activities. There are 4 important components in designing instructional design for students with visual impairment, such as students' characteristics, learning objective, method and assessment. The design should be adapted to fully support their inclusion in the classroom. By designing instructional design for students with visual impairments, it is expected that they will be able to comprehend the material and to increase their motivation in learning English. This paper aimed to understand appropriate instructional design for students with visual impairment. This paper also provides study cases in Inclusion English Class at university level where students with visual impairment and sighted students study at the same classroom. By discussing this issue, it is expected that every lecture recognize basic characteristics of students with visual impairment and choose the appropriate instructional design to accommodate all character of students

The Influence of Multimedia Production Knowledge on the Design Decisions of the Instructional Designer

This study explored the interaction of multimedia production competencies of expert and novice instructional designers on the design decisions made during the instructional design process / workflow. This multiple measures study used qualitative survey instruments to access and measure the production competencies of participants, then a design aloud protocol to capture and measure the instructional design decision-making process for those same participants. A follow-on interview after the initial design aloud session was conducted in order to triangulate and confirm any trends or findings uncovered during the earlier design aloud session. Ultimately, the objective of this study was to provide some evidence that suggests whether certain production skills are influencing instructional design decision-making. Employer influence on the instructional designer’s decision-making was also explored. Results indicated that a substantial number of instructional designers (n=30) who participated in this study were selecting media as a preliminary step in their workflow process, and were often then using analysis as a measure to confirm the early media selection. Expert instructional designers appeared to be less susceptible to the early media selection behavior, though not immune. Results indicate that one reason the expert instructional designers were less likely to adopt media as a preliminary instructional design step was that the experts conducted a more diverse set of analysis activities. Additionally, results indicated that instructional designers were often experiencing pressure to adopt media based on employer demands, and project constraints such as budget and time

: Instructional Design of Call: A Perspective of Flexibility, Learning Goal, and Computer Roles. The purpose of this study is to review instructional design (ID) used in computer assisted language learning (CALL) studies. The Eight models of ID derived from three different dimensions of online learning, namely: learning content delivery (flexibility), learning goal, and computer roles serve as the basis of analysis for the corpus CALL-related articles which become the source of data. A hundred and forty-seven articles were reviewed resulting in eighty-six articles matching the curent study. The findings show that 5 out of eight models emerge in the CALL literature. Details about learning flexibility and computer roles are discussed in the article

This study aims to determine the performance, testing the feasibility of instructional media on the number system to apply basic standards of competence - basic digital techniques and test users on the X class students majoring in Electronics. The media can be used as a means of supporting the process of learning and teaching activities. Instructional media is designed and fabricated by combining a variety of multimedia objects such as text, images, animation and interactive buttons. Materials used in the subject matter of this medium is the theory of number systems and conversions between number theory To determine the performance of the media tested with the instrument in the form of a checklist and expected function keys, compatibility with the function keys will show the media function according to its purpose, while for the due diligence performed by the validation tests by matter experts and media experts. For the user test, conducted with the involvement of students in grade XA and XB Muda SMK Patria Kalasan as research objects, aspects that are tested are aspects of design and ease of use of media. The results of this study is the performance, results of feasibility tests and test users. The results show the performance of which function as it should, both for navigation buttons or keys that function executes the simulation. The results of the feasibility test of the media according to the expert review of the material aspects of the material obtained score of 80.36% (a very viable category), viewed from the aspect of the depth of the material obtained score of 80% (very viable category) and aspects of the evaluation by 75% (category worthy) so the total score is 79.55% (a very viable category). According to media expert learning this lesson the media review of the design aspects of getting score of 67. 69% (viable category) reviewed aspects of information clarity 74.50% (category worthy) so that the total score was 72.61% (category worthy). Results of test users to design aspect got a score of 74.08% (category worthy), and ease of use get a score of 72.38% (category worthy) so that the total score of 73.38% (category worthy). Based on this, the instructional media used in this study as a viable means of supporting the process of learning and teaching activities on the basis of applying competency standards - the basic digital system at the vocational school majoring in electronics. Key words: instructional media, number systems, conversion of number

USDLA: An Instructional Media Selection Guide For Distance Learning

    Get PDF
Purpose and Use of the Media Selection Guide Increasingly, educators and trainers are challenged within their respective organizations to provide for the efficient distribution of instructional con-tent using instructional media. The appropriate selection of instructional media to support distance learning is not intuitive and does not occur as a matter of personal preference. On the contrary, instructional media selec-tion is a systematic sequence of qualitative processes based on sound in-structional design principles. Although media selection is often mentioned when studying the discipline of instructional technology or Instructional Systems Design (ISD), it is sometimes overlooked when applying the se-lection process in a distance-learning environment. It is our intent, there-fore, for this guide to highlight the essentials of good media selection. We hope to present an instructionally sound and systematic approach to se-lecting the most appropriate media for the delivery of content at a dis-tance
